1. I'm thinking about applying for another IT job, this one with the local hospitals instead of the school system. From what I hear it would be pretty similar to my current job, but should pay more, and the benefits are probably a little better. Though the paid leave situation would not be as good. But it's kind of stupid, because I've been lately thinking that what I really need to do is get my ass down to Chapel Hill and get back into grad school for library sciences, and getting a new job would kind of derail that. So, short term good, long term not so good. The other thing that might derail that is GRE's. Holy crap. The other day I looked at some sample algebra questions and I felt like a dunce. I knew it was very basic algebra, but I couldn't work my way around it to save my life. Amazing how much I've forgotten.
2. Just a little bit before I started watching Lost, my dad let me borrow season one of 24 so I could check it out. I put that disc 1 in several times but just never hit play. And then I got hooked on Lost and didn't even think about it for a while. Well, last Saturday I was craving something to watch but didn't feel like spending a lot of time with a movie, so I threw that on. Holy crap. I'm all in on this show now too. Pretty much from the moment I saw Doc Scurlock cut off a dead man's finger so he could ID him later, I was fully invested. So now I have yet another TV show I have to catch up on. AND I still have to finish Lost. Downloaded season five last weekend. And Spike is playing a lot of MMA. And I've fallen back in love with Roseanne now that TV Land is pushing it hard. AND last weekend I watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Raging Bull, and When We Were Kings, so now I'm feeling an affinity for westerns and boxing movies. There's just not enough hours in the day. To watch all this TV.

Chapel Hill would be pretty cool. We've been thinking more and more about the Raliegh/Durham area recently, but we need to spend some time down there first, especially for U2 in October. Taking a full weekend + Friday for that one. But the whole idea of being 2 hours from Wilmington with the ability of having jobs and a great music scene is very tempting. Plus, I'm sure it would be waaay cheaper.
ReplyDeleteFirst season of 24 is all i've watched, and it was incredible, except for all of the incredibly stupid female characters... Raging Bull is sooo good! Been meaning to break that one out again... you've seen The Sting right?? We've been rocking Charles In Charge on Hulu and Christy is now caught up to the beginning of Season 2 of Twin Peaks... you MUST watch that show. Brilliant to the Nth. Drive to Wilmington time...
