When I wrote that a few days ago about guessing the coconut m&ms would become a permanent addition before the strawberried, I hadn't seen this even though it was put up a while ago. I'm so ashamed. So, my guess about what happened is that they did in fact fly off the shelves. I know I didn't see them for long. And then they said, "Well, if they want 'em..." Still, I'd rather see it done with the strawberrieds. I am excited to try the wild cherry flavor. Never did get to try that one. And also, I'd like to see a return of the mint crisp and the white chocolate, never got to try those. And I think I read about one with a cookie center. M&Ms are awesome. (I started writing this entry two days ago and had not yet posted it because I had thought of one more incredible thing I wanted to say about M&Ms but then I forgot. I had hoped it would come back to me but it hasn't. So I'm giving up on that.) One other thing M&M related: I haven't felt in a long time the kind of gratification I felt last Sunday when my buddies dug into some strawberried peanut butter m&ms and had nothing but good things to say about them.
Onto the Peanut Butter Lovers Peanut Butter Cup. There's really not much to say. Reeses Peanut Butter is one of the greatest tasting things on the planet. (I think I might say that Reeses Cups vs. m&ms would be a titanic war that could never conclude.) But it's best when paired with chocolate. In my opinion, it's missed here. There is a little layer of chocolate along the bottom, but you can barely notice it. Not that I couldn't suck down a million of them, but the entire time I would wish I could have them with chocolate. And then I would wonder why I didn't just get the ones with chocolate as they're more readily available and probably cheaper. One other note about these: definitely enjoy these frozen or at the very least refrigerated. I had one at room temperature and the entire chocolate bottom came off when I removed the paper cup. So it was all peanut butter. Frozen is quickly becoming my favorite way to have candy.

Verdict for me so far... Peanut butter lovers is better than the chunky peanut butter one, but they were both welcomed change-ups from the generic cup. Pleasing all around.
ReplyDeleteCoconut M&M's... when the bag was cracked, I wasn't really even hungry for chocolate, but by the time the bag was done, I was like, what happened to all my chocolate?! These things are freaking delicious!!! The same thing happened with the strawberried this past weekend... bag full... then bag empty... I'm pretty sure the coconut wins though... And I bet they would be swimming with a nice black coffee or perhaps a flowery tea.
:-D STOKED! M&Ms really had an excellent summer this year. I have to ask, did you have the coconut m&ms room temp or frigerated? I think I enjoyed those more at room temp, which is a rarity these days. Where's all my chocolate?!?
ReplyDeleteSince my ltd. edition candy options seem to have run out for the time being, I'm going to switch to ice cream for a little while. Needing to try Ben & Jerry's Ginger Snap, Pumpkin Cheesecake, and American Apple Pie. And maybe Raspberry Peach Cobbler. What am I doing to myself?
